Abstract
The objective of this study is to segment Thai consumers by using the level of motivation to consume IT innovative products. The measurement to gauge the level of motivation to consume innovative products was developed based on the measurement of Vandecasteele & Geuens (2008). An in-depth interview was conducted to adjust the questions to fit with Thai social and consumption behavior contexts. The results showed that the 47-items could be grouped into 7 factors using factor analysis. After the data of the motivation to consume IT innovative products was conducted by using two-step cluster analysis. The respondents could be segmented into 7 segments ? all type of innovation, social and functional, knowledge and cognitive skill, product design and benefit, product design, product benefit, and non-specific. The results of this research can provide deep information about the consumption behavior of information technology products among Thai consumers that were affected by different types of motivations. This study can be used as a guideline to develop strategies in a marketing plan for different target groups.

Abstract
This paper evaluates the effectiveness of apprentice programs for Thai residents. We focus on the following apprentice programs: (1) Dress Making and Designs, (2) Hairdressing and Beauty Salon, (3) Electronics, (4) Arts, (5) Food and Nutrition, and (6) General Subject. We surveyed 399 students who attended weekday occupational training programs between October 2008 and March 2009 at Wat Worajunyawad Apprentice Center, Bang Kor Laem District, Bangkok using a stratified random sampling technique. This method selects number of students from each program in proportion to total number of students in the respective program. Our research tools are survey of effectiveness, descriptive statistical analysis, i.e., percentage and average values, and statistical inference, i.e., hypothesis testing by means of a Chi-square test, and analysis of variance. We find that the students? characteristics; namely, their level of education and choice of subject studied are not independent of the effectiveness of the occupational training programs at the 10% level of significance. Choice of subject studied is the most important contributor with the contingency coefficient of 0.239 while level of education is the second important contributor, having the contingency coefficient of 0.21. At the 5% level of significance, the subject studied is the only important contributor to the overall effectiveness of these occupational training programs. Applying a CIPP model, we considered four factors; namely, environment, quality of inputs, process, and outcomes, we find that the average effectiveness score for outcomes significantly varies across programs while the average effectiveness scores on the remaining three factors do not differ across programs at the 5% level of significance. The overall effectiveness of the program based on the relative weight for each of the four factors that are set in accordance to the objectives and goals of the programs indicate that training at Wat Worajunyawad Apprentice Center is relatively effective; the average score for the overall effectiveness is 3.73 out of a maximum of 5, which is equivalent to the effective rate of 74.6 percent.

Imagine as you just about to enter a department store, you receive a text message on your mobile phone informing you of discounts and promotion campaigns taking place in this particular department store. Or, think of a situation when you are driving on an unfamiliar street and you can request some information, using your mobile phone or your notebook computer with wireless connection to the Internet, about the location of the nearest gas station, the direction to a nearby restaurant serving your favorite cuisine, about the interesting tourist spots around the area, or even tracking whether any of your friends are close by. If you feel that these example situations mentioned above are useful and attractive, you are interested in ?Location-based Services? or ?LBS?. Location-based Services are the services which make use of a positioning system of mobile devices in order to deliver service and/or information to users.
